Have you ever seen a hippo try to play the piano? That's how bad I am at dancing. But I thought that it would be cool to try something new so...

I went for my first dancing lesson the other day at John's Dance Academy. I was so excited about it. =P We've been talking about this thing for a month now. And we finally got it started. =) We as in me and my partner Irene. I kinda feel bad 'cause she's so GOOD and I'm so SUCKY.

Oh and the teacher John? HE'S FREAKIN' GOOD, MAN!!!!! (Or Woman =D) That dude must be like 60+ years old?? He can sure twist and turn and move his feet and hips. Damn. If I was that good at dancing... Don't get me wrong. He's not sissy or anything. He can shake and twist his hips but only when he's dancing. He walks and acts like a normal STRAIGHT old man. XD So to the dudes out there.. Ballroom dancing is not for sissies.

And it's not as easy as it looks. I went in thinking "Okay, I've never done ballroom or latin dancing so I'm gonna take it easy and slowly" But I came out having a whole new respect for dancing. There's a lot to learn and it sure isn't for sissies. =O

Although Irene and the others (Alex Chong, Charlene Yong, Yong TY and the teacher) said that I was learning quite fast, I sure don't feel like it. Charlene said it took them 2 classes to learn what I did in one class, which was up till the Alimana/Arimana/Pony/Aliwana/Ariwana (Alex calls it Ali Di Mana?) It's a latin dance move thingy. Not good at it yet though. Still kinda suck.

But I'm glad that I've got a good partner (UINAH Irene =P) who can guide me through everything. And the teacher said "A guy's job is really easy, you only need to do the basic steps, the girl has to do lots of work, but it's the guy's job to lead the lady." I feel as if Irene's leading me. =_=" I'm not used to the moves yet so I can't exactly lead her through them. =S

And to make things worse, the teacher asked us to try dancing to Cha Cha Cha music. @@" On my first lesson. Gosh he's nuts. And he said it's really slow... Turned out to be quite fast. According to Alex, it was faster than any Cha Cha song they've ever danced to. JOHN!! WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME?!!!

Anyway.. Overall I think the lesson was really worth it and I really learned a lot. I can't wait till the next class. ;-) We didn't take any pictures though. Forgot to. =S Alex did take a video but I can't play it in my pc. Oh well. Till next time, bye. =)
