Yes today was another movie day with Zhi-Heng. Sounds gay I know but it's all Jonath's fault. =P You were supposed to join us Weenie!!! Anyway, we met in school and then took a bus to KK. (To cut things short for that matter.) =D Growball in CP by the way.
We watched 2 movies today... First we went for The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Now I'm just gonna do a short review of the movies and they're just my opinion so don't come at me saying. "DUDE KEANU REEVES WAS HOT WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE WASN'T?!"
I thought that Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly were really good and they played their characters really well. But I thought that the movie was a wee bit too fictional and fantasy-ish. Although the effects and stuff were really good.
Overall I thought that it's a good movie. =) But just not the kind that you still think of after days.
The second movie we watched was Twilight.
Before I say anything let me just say this so that the girls don't hate me. Yes, Edward Cullen is hot. =P Now I feel safe to talk. Don't worry, I'm straight. Okay so I thought that the movie felt really rushed and shortened by the hefty lot but that's normally the case when you try to make a movie out of a book. I'd say 9 times out of 10 the book's much better. And well, I haven't read the book yet but yeah I could really feel that something was missing and the storyline was rushed a bit.
Some effects were used and in some parts of the movie it was really crappy but most of the time the effects were okay. There was this scene where Edward was jumping from a rock to another and the camera wasn't moving but they made Edward look blurry when he jumped and I thought that in that scene the effects were sucky. But in other scenes the blurry effect worked well. =D
And they also added in some narrations from Bella (Kristen Stewart, I noticed her from The Messenger which was a nice movie.) and that was unnecessary because there were just too little of the narrations and it was just weird I guess.
I personally liked the part when the Cullens were protecting Bella from James and Victoria. That was really exciting and I thought it was action-ish. (Sorry for my very limited vocabulary. =P) It really got me on the edge of my seat. Either that or I really had to pee. Which reminds me of a famous saying... "Movie lengths should be decided based on the endurance capability of the human bladder."
Overall I thought it was a nice movie and I can't wait for the second movie "New Moon" PLUS.... they're gonna work with a different director and I hope it only gets better. =)
